Do you remember your favourite manager?
Do you remember your favourite manager?
Not the one with the most impressive title - NOT the one who clocked the longest hours - not even the one who bought you cake on your birthday (though that was nice).
I'm talking about the one who made you feel seen.
One who helped you believe you could achieve more.
One who asked for your input and listened to your thoughts and your questions, even when they knew it might lead to a tricky conversation.
One who shared what helped you feel involved (instead of only what they would like to know in your position).
The one who taught you or helped you to find the next step in learning.
The one who asked you questions.
What did they do that others didn't?
What did they notice?
Who have you been this for lately??
This post isn't about nostalgia - it's about leadership - the kind that lasts!
If you're leading a team, a charity or a business with heart, you could be someone's favourite manager in progress.
