Stop & smell the flowers đĒģ I got hours back each week đ
It's far from a new story, but in case you need a reminder, social media messes with our attention spans
a couple of Sundays ago I was feeling not right, not wrong, but some kind of not rightness...
decided to try a week of social media abstinence... personal & professional
full disclosure - as it was spontaneous I popped into linkedin & insta for 5 mins each to check & reply to DMs (literal 5 mins, once in the week)
but otherwise no scrolling, no posting, nothing
instead, I read books, watched TV series, listened to music, did home chores... I got a lot done đ
and most of all, I felt my attention span grow within days đą
And I got really clear on some creative things I am doing, it made brain space.
I recommend it. đ
I also realised that I am not a person who wants to leave altogether - you could very quickly lose touch, but personally I'm getting much more intentional about what I do, when & for how long.
